Court Reconstruction Update

The city is currently in talks with the contractor, and based on labour and equipment availability, at this point it is more likely the work will not begin until early 2023. The project itself has been placed on the City of Toronto tender site, however we are not aware if the project has yet been awarded. Once work begins, the city expects the work to take 6-8 weeks to complete. We will continue to keep you apprised of any updates.

Annual Survey

We are striving to get better to serve our community!  Please complete our annual survey as it allows us to know what to focus on next year. One lucky member will receive a $100 gift card to Game Set Match.  It is 10 questions and should take no more than 5 minutes complete. Please click here to access and participate. Club Tournament (Sept 10 & 17th)

This is a reminder that Edenbridge's Tennis Tournament is on this weekend and next. Scheduled for Saturday Sept 10th: Men's Singles and Women's Singles. Courts have been booked from 9am-5pm. Next weekend we will have Men's Doubles and Mixed Doubles - Saturday from 9am-5pm. Both Sundays will have courts reserved as a backup should the tournament be hit by rain. Should Sundays' courts not be required, booking will be cancelled. Best of luck to all participants!

House Leagues

Not taking part in the tournament? No problem, there are plenty of chances to keep playing. The House league will continue though to October (Wednesday and Thursday evenings) - and with two leagues, lots more opportunity to play. Though the teams have been set, they are always in need of subs. If you are interested in playing, please contact Valentin at valentin@edenbridgetennis.com

Round Robin

Also, the round robin on Sunday's will continue to run throughout September and October. Anyone interested in joining are encouraged to sign up through the court booking.

Tennis Court Lights

Just a quick update to report that the repairs on the court lights are completed - all are operational again. Thank you for your patience.

August Newsletter

Club Tournament

Though the summer season is starting to wind down, Edenbridge has an opportunity for you to strut your stuff through the end-of-year tournament. This event will take place on the second and third weekends of September (Sept 11/12 & 17/18) depending on the number of competitors that have signed up. It will include competition for both singles, doubles and there will be prizes for the winners. If you are interested in taking part, please fill out this online form.

House League Expanding

Congratulations to Jeff and Tristan who won the current house league!

Due to popular demand, the club's house league will be extended for a few more months of play, and will be split into two groups, to accommodate more players.

Intermediate house league (up to 3.5 rank) will start August 3, and continue to be held on Wednesdays at 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30PM and will run until the end of September. There are still spots available for full time players and subs.

For the more advanced, another house league (3.5 and over) will begin September 1st and will continue on Thursday evenings around 7PM. This league will play for 6-8 weeks, depending on the number interested in playing. If you are interested in either house league, please contact Valentin valentin@edenbridgetennis.com and let him know the league you would like to play in. Volunteers are also welcome to help run this league.

National Bank Open Parking

For those who have purchased tickets for the Monday, August 8th day session through Edenbridge Club (not the National Bank website), a parking permit promo code has been mailed out. You will need to open the email before coming to the event, and register the vehicle that will be used for parking. The full instructions will be in the sent email. (Tip: In the app's checkout screen, there is a link in red 'Add Promo' - click the link to add the promo code.)

Court Repairs Update

The city has completed the landscape architecture design and electrical plans are nearly finished. Plans will now be submitted to TRCA for approval. Once the PO issued and contractor chosen, the city will schedule the work. Once the schedule has been set, the club will look for companies to complete the top coat.

June 2022 Newsletter

Court Repairs Update

The city continues to conduct preparatory work on the courts in anticipation of the rebuild that is scheduled for October/November 2022. You may periodically see heavy machinery on the court as this work is completed. Unfortunately, the city does not give the club much notice for these types of activities, and requires us to grant them access to the courts with little notice.

Most recently, the city brought in boring machines and dug holes in the courts for a geotech survey. In addition to this, we are in the midst of conducting arborist reports. This work is anticipated to be done by the end of June at which point the rebuild will go out to tender.

The city has been informed about the fallen trees behind the court and will be cutting down the branches around the court light switch, and inquiries have been made into getting the picnic tables delivered. The club tent is also scheduled to be set up in the next couple of weeks.
