Key Information for the 2025 Season
There are some important changes to our club's operations for the 2025 tennis season. Due to the scheduled rebuilding of the tennis facility at our regular location in Scarlett Mills Park, the City of Toronto Parks & Recreation department has arranged temporary accommodations for our club at Eglinton Flats Tennis Courts.
1. New Location:
- We will be operating at Eglinton Flats Tennis Courts starting in May 2025
- We have been allocated three courts in the northeast quadrant of the facility
- These courts have been specifically chosen as they do not have pickleball lines, allowing us to participate in Intercounty League competitions
2. Court Access and Monitoring:
- All court booking will continue to be done through PlayerCoach as in previous years
- Our club professional and coaching staff will maintain their regular presence at the courts
- They will continue to oversee both their coaching duties and general court supervision
- Additional monitoring measures may be implemented if needed
3. Public Access Policy:
- As part of our temporary arrangement with the City, we have agreed to a flexible approach regarding public access
- When courts are not being used by our members or professional staff, they will be available for public use
- This arrangement replaces the standard six-hour public access requirement typically mandated by the City's Outdoor Tennis Club Operations Policy
4. Facility Details:
- The courts will become available after the Eglinton Flats Winter Tennis Club removes their bubble at the end of April
- The City will install updated signage at both Eglinton Flats and Scarlett Mills to communicate these changes
- Our designated courts will be clearly marked within their own fenced quadrant
We appreciate your understanding and flexibility during this temporary relocation. The City of Toronto Parks & Recreation staff have been very cooperative in helping us maintain our club operations during the Scarlett Mills construction period. At this point, we have not received clear indication regarding the start and end period of the construction. We are currently planning to be at Eglinton Flats for the duration of the 2025 season but will communicate any updates as they become available.
We will provide additional details about specific court schedules, programming, and any operational adjustments as we get closer to the season opening. In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to the club administration.
